Register a birth or death
Vital Records issues and maintains certificates or records of all birth, death, marriage, divorce, and adoptions completed in Utah.
- Birth certificates are available from 1905–present. Records are public after 100 years
- Death certificates are available from 1905–present. Records are public after 50 years
- Marriage certificates are available from 1978–2010. Records are public after 75 years
- Visit or call the County Clerk's Office where the marriage occurred for years before 1978 or after 2010
- Divorce records are available from 1978–2010. Records are public after 75 years
- Visit or call the Utah District Courts in the district where the divorce was finalized for the years before 1978 or after 2010
